MARE promotes the interaction of its researchers with the non-academic community through dedicated science communication and environmental education programs. The activities showcase much of the research that takes place at MARE, and in particular, highlights the ecological importance of marine and coastal ecosystems and of their services to society. Educational programs dedicated to schools aim at bridging the current gaps on ocean literacy in the official school curricula.
