MARE – Marine and Environmental Sciences Centre invites early-career researchers of any nationality to carry out their doctoral projects at MARE by applying for the INPhINIT Doctoral Fellowships from the ”la Caixa” Foundation!
The INPhINIT doctoral fellowships offer highly competitive salaries and opportunities for complementary training in transferable skills through annual workshops. Fellows will join a research centre and be assigned a thesis supervisor from their host institution, who will guide them throughout their doctoral research.

It provides a multidisciplinary and collaborative research environment, offering opportunities to work within one or more of our 8 Regional Research Units and over 30 distinct Research Groups, where you can development innovative projects in aquatic and environmental sciences.
Two application categories available:
- INPhINIT Incoming:
Applicants who have not studied or worked in Portugal for more than 12 months in the last 3 years.
Application deadline: 23 January 2025
- INPhINIT Retaining:
Applicants who have studied or worked in Portugal for more than 12 months in the last 3 years.
Application deadline: 18 February 2025
