Presentation of the book “Kingfish in the Tagus”

On February 9, the children's book O Peixe-rei no Tejo will be presented by author Sílvia Bernardo and MARE researcher Filipe Ribeiro. The event will take place in Praça Soeiro Pereira Gomes in Alhandra, Vila Franca de Xira.

This children's book portrays the adventure of a kingfish who is threatened by a catfish. The story aims to raise concern about the effect that invasive species have on the River Tagus and addresses issues such as global warming and the effect of dams on the extinction of freshwater species.
