MARE researchers at the National Earth Observation Conference

On 12 and 13 September, MARE PhD students Giulia Sent and Afonso Ferreira took part in the National Earth Observation Conference - Terra em Foco, at the University of Minho in Braga.

The two young researchers attended the event with a poster presenting the Phytoplankton Remote Sensing and Monitoring Group, based at MARE in the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon. The group has done a lot of work in the area of remote sensing and is currently the main group in the country developing, using and validating remote sensing products applied to the study of microalgae communities.

The National Earth Observation Conference, organised by the Portuguese Space Agency, is a biennial conference that brings together more than 200 people, including the main companies and public entities working in the field of remote sensing.

The poster presented, which was also authored by MARE researchers Vanda Brotas, Ana C. Brito, Luciane Favareto, Andreia Tracana, Beatriz Biguino and Joana P. Cruz.
