MARE researchers won international award
MARE researchers, from NOVA, have won an international award. The book "Sustainable Solid Waste Collection and Management" by Ana Pires, Graça Martinho, Susana Rodrigues and Maria Isabel Gomes unanimously won the 1st International Solid Waste Association (ISWA) Prize, the ISWA Publication Award 2019 , delivered on 8thoctober at the ISWA 2019 World Congress in Bilbao.
"If I were a teacher, I would consider this book a must read for a waste management class," commented Professor Dave Ross, Associate Editor of the Waste Management & Research Journal.
The book is a result of a FCTNOVA interdepartmental partnership between researchers from the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering and the Department of Mathematics. More information about the book can be found here:
