RedeMAR ULisboa Summer School 2024

What are the key concepts for tackling today's marine and coastal challenges? These major challenges require not only intensive scientific research and exceptional analytical skills, but also the capacities for empathy and self-reflection that result from recognizing the plurality of human experience in time and space. As we are on the brink of radical change, driven by an ecological and social crisis, any implementation strategies will have to encompass different fields of knowledge and call for multi-stakeholder collaboration.

The RedeMAR ULisboa Summer School: “One Ocean: a multidisciplinary approach to marine and coastal challenges” thus offers a unique moment to combine your talents with the resources of this ambitious group, in an experience of sharing ideas in Portuguese about our possible common futures and to contribute to the development of knowledge-based solutions aimed at tackling threats and creating opportunities.

In this way, we welcome bachelor's and master's students from both national and international contexts in the Portuguese-speaking world who wish to explore the current challenges of our Ocean from technological, ecological, social, historical and various other perspectives, regardless of their area of basic training.

The course will run from June 17 to 21 and will cost €170.

You can request a certificate of attendance, indicating the 30 hours of training, in intensive format, equivalent to 3 ECTS.
