Synergies 2024

This year's Synergies event will be held on May 8 at 2pm at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon. This event is organized by two working teams, the green and the blue, the latter consisting of MARE researchers Bernardo Duarte, Ana Amorim, Ricardo Melo, Romana Santos and Vanessa Fonseca.

The Synergies workshops are an annual event designed to promote the work of researchers from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon. These workshops focus on biotechnology, with special attention to blue and green biotechnology solutions for a sustainable future.

This year's edition will be supported by the EEA Grants iSEA project, and will have as its theme the Initiative for sustainable macroalgae farming along the European coast, focusing on applied phycology, seaweed biotechnology, microbiology, food chemistry, economics, sociology and marine governance.
