At the invitation of His Excellency Fernando Alexandre, Minister of Education, Science and Innovation, researcher Teresa Mouga will be a member of the National Council for Science, Technology and Innovation (CNCTI).
Having taken office on 6 November, the National Council for Science, Technology and Innovation (CNCTI), chaired by Carlos Oliveira, is an advisory body to the Portuguese government on matters related to science, technology and innovation.
This Council is made up of 20 experts from academia, industry, research and international organisations, including MARE researcher Teresa Mouga. CNCTI plays a vital role in defining national strategies and policies, and is dedicated to promoting scientific and technological development, supporting innovation in all sectors and fostering the internationalisation of Portuguese science.
In this way, the CNCTI ensures inter-ministerial collaboration and offers guidance on the integration of science and technology into economic and social policies, with the ultimate aim of positioning Portugal as a leader in innovation.
