The 2nd edition of the training course “Ecological Restoration of Rivers and Coastal Systems” will be held on June 3-7 at the University Campus in Figueira da Foz. This course is aimed at higher education students with an interest in ecology and environmental engineering, and gives a total of 3 ECTs.
The “Ecological Restoration of Rivers and Coastal Systems” training course covers the ecological aspects related to different types of aquatic systems: freshwaters and coastal systems. It covers the information and methods essential for designing plans to implement ecological restoration measures for water bodies. The contents are taught by researchers with extensive experience in implementing the Water Framework Directive and responsible for developing official methods and protocols and their intercalibration at European level. Essential topics will be covered for drawing up restoration projects or developing plans of measures, linked to the hydrology/hydraulics, biology or services of the ecosystems in question.
The event is organized by MARE researchers Maria João Feio and João Neto
