Activity summary
My research has been dedicated to the conservation, phylogeny and population genetics of Iberian freshwater fish species. I’m the scientific coordinator of a pioneer ex-situ conservation program for restocking endangered fish populations, ongoing since 2007, and of the monitoring and educational project “Peixes Nativos”, targeting endemic ichthyofauna (www.peixesnativos.pt).
