Alejandro Escánez is a Post-doc researcher from the University of Vigo (Spain). His main research interests are marine ecology, biodiversity and biogeography of cephalopods, especially in mesopelagic and deep-sea species present in the Macaronesian region. Now at MARE-Madeira, his research focuses on the implementation of a new low-cost digital tag for the study of free-ranging squids, as well their trophic relationships with deep diving cetaceans.
