Activity summary

Scientific research in marine biology and ecology; studies of physical and biological processes that affect the diversity, distribution and interaction of species in different marine ecosystems. Presently working in rocky shore ecology, namely on the importance of rockpools as habitat for limpet populations in SW Portugal. Experience in experimental aquaculture and management of the harvesting of the stalked-barnacle. Response to strandings of marine mammals and reptiles. Scientific outreach.
