Luís Coelho has developed activities related to energy efficiency, sustainable use of energy sources, renewable energy sources, namely geothermal energy, solar thermal and biomass, development of thermal energy storage solutions and studies on outdoor and indoor air quality. He has developed numerical modeling activities based on Computational Fluid Mechanics (CFD), as well as energy simulation of buildings.
