Activity summary

Marine biogeoscientist specialised in (paleo)ecological signatures of coccolithophores (calcareous nanoplankton) from ocean sediments and water column in continental margins and open ocean settings, and their role in the biological pumps of (organic and inorganic) carbon. Currently leads project CEECIND-FCT CHASE (CHASing the environmental Effects of dust deposition across the Atlantic and Southern Ocean: a coccolithophore perspective) at MARE-UL (70%) and Instituto Dom Luiz (30%).
