Verónica Ferreira in the Revista de Ciência Elementar

Verónica Ferreira, a researcher at MARE, has written an article for the March 2024 edition of the Revista de Ciência Elementar. Using simpler and more accessible language, the researcher explained a number of scientific concepts in the area of ecosystem services. ​  

Revista de Ciência Elementar is a quarterly publication aimed at a wide audience of primary and secondary school teachers, students at all levels of education and anyone interested in science. This magazine publishes articles presenting scientific concepts in a rigorous way, articles with a critical view of current reality, and communications on successful experiences in the teaching and dissemination of science, covering the areas of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Geology.

In this latest edition, researcher Verónica Ferreira spoke about the concept of ecosystem services, explaining their importance, threats and economic valuation, focusing on the fundamental role of rivers.
