His scientific activity was dedicated to the study of the biology and ecology of fish (diadromous, freshwater, estuarine and coastal species), aquatic biotelemetry (radio, acoustic and physiological), conservation and management, fish population dynamics and ecological monitoring.
Participated in more than 30 scientific and applied projects, and coordinated several projects dedicated to the study of anadromous fish. Published more than 82 papers in SCI journals, 3 books, 11 chapters of books.
